Legal Status & Partnerships

Since 2025, Fundación Legacy has been a Chilean non‑profit organization. Between 2014 and 2024, it operated as a non‑profit program under the fiscal sponsorship of Sustainable Travel International, and later of the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST), both U.S.-based non‑profit organizations.

Being established as a foundation or non‑profit organization in Chile allows us to seek funding both within the region and nationwide. It also enables us to receive support from Chilean companies that donate a portion of their profits, leveraging state tax incentives that encourage corporate contributions to social and community projects.

Furthermore, thanks to an MOU with the Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy—a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization—we continue to receive donations from the U.S. accompanied by tax-deductible receipts.
